My company has done about ten training courses on communication, but we still have problems. How does a course in strategic communication differ from other courses that have not managed to produce concrete results?

Answer

The strategic approach begins with defining concrete goals that the company or work team desires to reach. Once the goal has been identified, we will decide if consulting could produce the desired results. If a training operation is decided upon, we will want to be able to measure and verify the results. Each strategic training course is therefore created ad hoc (custom made) and the “learning by doing” method is usually applied. This method allows faster and more richer learning as it prioritizes hands-on experience. In this way, each group participant can develop their observation skills and recognize their organization behaviors that need to be addressed.  Following the training, they should be able to apply these new skills into practice at work.
