I read books on strategic psychotherapy and I would like to start a therapeutic treatment of this kind. Is it possible that having read and now knowing some of the manoeuvres will damage my therapeutic work?

Answer

Knowing the strategic manoeuvres will not present in any way an obstacle to the intervention’s effectiveness. In the contrary, and in the majority of observed cases, knowing beforehand what kind of commitment is required during a strategic therapy and the effect of some manoeuvres, can serve as a facilitator to the therapeutic change.
