Are the session scheduled on a weekly basis?

Answer

During the first treatment phases, the brief strategic therapy sessions can follow a weekly or biweekly schedule, depending on the type of problem and the patient’s requirements. When the disorder has been stirred and the first improvements have been observed, the sessions can be further spaced with time, so that the patient can experiment with these newly found resources and capacities without creating too strong of a connection with the therapist.  The therapy ends with 3 control sessions (follow-up) that are set at 3 months, 6 months, and one year after the end of the therapy and provide verification that the acquired improvements are stable over time.
